Creating causes for the future today

       Creating causes

All that exists in the present moment has been a result of previous causes that have been created by our actions, speech, and mind. What we practice on regular basis becomes what we call our nature. We tend to neglect the responsibility that is actually coupled with freedom to change that. Conditions play a large role in the likelihood of recognizing this freedom, and that is not to be dismissed as a real limitation, however humans were meant to go beyond condition. I like to think of conditions like weather and landscape, its gives space for optimal results but is never the end of possibility.  This is very well exemplified in the term nurture over nature. It is a great testament to the power of the mind, which is our route to freedom when practicing right actions, speech, and having pure intentions. All of what we do, say, and think will be with us, and this can be used to create good or not so good. You will end up happy, or looking over your shoulder. Is what we do helpful or hurtful? No one knows your intentions, and that is the strongest part of the process.

    Action/body
This is probably the most obvious because we can often physically see the cause and effect. Starting with how we take care of ourselves. Most of the population doesn't get enough sleep, is rarely properly hydrated, and consumes more caffeine than vegetables on a daily basis. How we take care of ourselves is important to our mindset as well. With that being said we can also see the results of those who intentionally get proper nutrients, and actually enjoy exercises and activity. Being able to enjoy nature on a hike, being connected on a team, and appreciating what we can do. More likely happier, less stress, and what others look to be. The body is more likely to serve us in return, and what we don't see is the positive brain patterns we develop by doing so that is a lifetime of benefits. Taking care of yourself is a benefit to others, you are available and happy. No one is going to be better off with the constantly tired and cranky friend or coworker.

Another consideration is what we do with our time. This can be engaging with others with intention to help, or a self centered pleasure chase. One of these will leave a better impression on our mind, both will become who we are. Our actions are what are important to us in motion. I am not saying that pleasure is bad, but it is temporary.

  Speech
Yes, here we go with what gets most of us in trouble. The power of our words can help or hurt, and that is up to us. There is no rest in the midst of angry people, words of judgement, slander, gossip, or the pure intention of degrading some one. Its like offering foul trash to others, and no one enjoys being in that space. Words are not just speech anymore, but what words we communicate with others as a whole. Since many people text more than they talk.

There is a sense of genuine connection with words that can help, encourage, inspire, give direction. We even find that with lyrics of songs.

We have all been with some one, or have been that some one that almost takes on criticizing all that is in existance according to only our personal perception. This is a practice, and we get very skilled. Complaining is another practice we get good at, and leaves no room for happiness. I have long had a view of complaints if you are entering some ones home univited and wiping feces all over. It is a violation to others. What we get good at we call our nature, and have been told that is just how we are. The brain has an amazingway of being able to change. You can't be happy and complain at the same time. You can choose to allow one or the other.

Being able to notice when we start shifting to negative speech is the first step of allowing ourselves to create better causes with our words. Much of this is reflected in our self chatter.  It won't happen over night, and it will involve mindful attention. One thing I have drawn to is that it makes no sense to be anything but happy. When I notice the urge I have found most effective to resort to stating what I am grateful for. Another powerful antidote is silence.

   Intention
The underlying most important aspect that only you know. Many people help others and speak nice, with not so great intentions. No surprise there. I think of intention as a seed, you create conditions for growth with words and actions. It will ripen according to intention in due time, whether good or bad. This also can't always be seen.

Our intentions set the course for our actions and speech. When they are in line with one another and for the good , you will experience peace of mind.  Saying one thing, doing the opposite, and thinking of deception will never lead to happiness.

Take for example a shady business man, who may seem to have alot of success. He will constantly be in fear of being found out and has created the impression on his mind of engaging in actions that aren't helpful. There is no place for happiness here.

Contrast that with a small business owner with the goal of serving his community, in doing so he hears them, builds meaningful relationships, as well as giving employment to support families. He makes enough to get by, and has been a help to others. This man can enjoy his days, all of them.

I will be launching a podcast to cover these subjects soon, follow me and please share. My hope is to see others enjoy more moments of happiness in life.
